What is this product used for
K9 Advantix is for use on dogs and puppies 7 weeks of age and older only. It is used for the topical prevention and treatment of fleas, mosquitoes and ticks including deer ticks (the major carrier of Lyme disease), American dog ticks, Brown dog ticks and lone star ticks. K9 Advantix kills and repels fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.

Availability
K9 Advantix is a non-prescription (OTC) product.

How this product should be used
For use only on dogs. Do not use on cats or on other animals. Part the hair on the dog’s back, between the shoulder blades, until the skin is visible. For dogs up to 20 lbs, apply the entire contents of the tube to this one spot. For dogs 21 lbs and over, apply the contents of the applicator tube to the skin at 3 or 4 spots on the top of the back from the shoulder to the base of the tail. If the household has cats or other animals, separate from the treated dog for about an hour until the product is thoroughly dry.

What are the side effects
Individual sensitivities, while rare, may occur after using any pesticide product for pets. If signs persist, or become more severe, consult a veterinarian immediately.

What special precautions are there
This product is for external use only on dogs and puppies 7 weeks or older. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated animals and debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals. Do not use this product on animals other than dogs. This product is harmful to humans if swallowed. Call a physician or poison control center for advice. Have patient sip water. Do not induce vomiting unless advised to and the patient is conscious. This product can cause eye irritation. Flush eyes with plenty of water. Call a physician if irritation persists. Avoid contact with skin, eyes or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling.

In the event of overdose
contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

How should I store this product
Store this product in a cool, dry place. Do not refrigerate. Store in the original container only. Do not reuse original container. If the container is empty place in trash or offer for recycling if available. If the container is partially filled, call for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

	(4 out of 5 stars) It works!!!!  10/03/06 - by Jeff I was sure it would fail but within a few hours of the first application, the fleas were dying. After a few days, there no fleas to be found. I would rate it a 5 but it creats a mess on the dogs back so you can't rub on them for a few days.

Advantix has always worked the best, even when I have tried to convince myself to buy the cheaper products, I always returned to Advantix. We also have three cats and they have been flea free since we have been using the Advantix on our dogs. Just wish they made Advantix for cats who like to go outside a lot. I have never seen a bad comment made about Advantix. My Aunt had 9 poodles and was using Frontline for the longest time until I recommended Advantix to her and she has never gone back since. So if your looking for a flea topical that will smells great, works amazing and repels and kills all bugs then Advantix is the product for you.

Thanks to Advantix! The ticks in our area here in Ohio are pretty bad too, and I walk him in the woods everyday, but Bailey only had one tick this summer, and when I pulled it out it was already dead! Awesome product!

Our vet stopped selling it after a couple of clients complained that it wore off before the month was up but the box does say, "up to 4 weeks" so what do they expect. I find that I do have to reapply every 3 weeks on my harriest dog but every month on my others and they have no problems. We have a lot of ticks here, too... wish they made this for people.

When we got him home to Michigan, we found out he had a very bad case of fleas and ticks. The vet applied K9 Advantix in the office and the fleas started falling off of him before we left the office. We have been faithfully using K9 Advantix ever since.

	(5 out of 5 stars) Repels AK Mosquitos!!  08/06/06 - by Emily My dog is a mosquito magnet! Especially her face. She would rub the swollen skin around her eyes raw with her paws. I was concerned about using this product because I have cats who sleep in the same areas as the dog & one cat gets very cozy with her. The vet told me to apply the product a few hours before introducing the dog into the common areas. He said once it's dried, there's no more danger to the cats...even if there's still that oily looking patch in the dog's fur, which usually lasts a few days. It repels the mosquitos & requires reapplication about every 3 weeks for us. Also, it does take about 2-3 days to reach full repellant strength. It's totally worth it & even seems to keep mosquitos repelled from the general area, which is great when she hangs out around our front door. Sure, every dog's results will be different; just like people, individual dogs metabolize things differently and have different allergies & sensitivities. Works great for us & I'm greatful!

I believe it is water proof because she loves to swim, and still works. Just give it a few hours to a day after putting it on to let it settle in.

	(5 out of 5 stars) WONDERFUL  07/31/06 - by MByers Many will complain that dogs had rashes and it didn't work. Well Advil doesn't cure everyone's headaches and for some makes it worse. I was very hesitant to leave my dogs outside when we went from an aparment to a house but with this on we have never had a problem. So in Arkansas it works great! We also visited Oklahoma and before we used it we found a few ticks on both of our dogs but the same say we started using the treatment we haven't had a problem since! No complaints here, great product!

Our dog was infested with fleas, after several baths and several other medicines nothing seemed to work. K9 Advantix worked the instant it was put on the dog. Our dog has been comming up to my husband and I wagging her tail every day thanking us. Great product.
