How this product should be used

The suggested initial dose in dogs 5 to 15 lbs is 1/2 chew per day, for dogs 15 to 30 lbs give 1 chew per day, for dogs 30 to 60 lbs give 2 chews per day, for dogs 60 to 100 lbs give 4 chews per day and for dogs over 100 lbs give 5 chews per day. After 4 to 6 weeks a suggested dose for dogs 5 to 30 lbs is reduce to every other day dosing, for dogs 30 to 60 lbs give 1 chew per day, for dogs 60 to 100 lbs give 2 chews per day and for dogs over 100 lbs give 2 and ½ chews per day.

There are no known side effects.

What special precautions are there

This product is for animal use only. Glucosamine, in humans, may increase insulin resistance and consequently affect glucose tolerance. Diabetic dogs or dogs that are overweight and have problems with glucose tolerance should have their blood sugars monitored if they are given glucosamine supplements.
